Which one is stronger, the roots of this tree or the rock on which it grows? I stand in utter
amazement that this tree is able to grow on top of this rock, no soil, nothing to sustain its life atop this rock. It is at least 4 feet above the ground on the back side and a good 10 feet in the front. The roots have not spread off the rock they set firmly on top.
Fallen trees surround it and that just tells me that this tree has seen its share of winds and storms. And its no small tree either. It has grown at least 60 feet tall. Years of storms have
surely tested its roots. Why does the rock not roll off the hillside when the winds begin to press against the top of the tree?
The tree is a tree and the rock is a rock but inside both, deep in their core, they both possess a symbolic strength that man kind could only hope for. But its a strength that is available to us...if we'd just embrace it!!!
