Saturday started with a few gobbles from this big bird. Thinking that he had given me the slip. I had all but given up on him when he appeared, on the other end of the field I was hunting, with a hen. I quickly got set back up, with Brandon right behind me this time. The hen did just as she was supposed to and led him straight across the field to us. At 20 yards he stretched his head for the last time. 19 lbs. a 10 inch beard and 3/4 inch spurrs. My Turkey season is done now and Id say it was a pretty good one! You would really have to have the bug to appreciate these birds.
I gots my self a new toy...its just under 30 inches axle to axle(realy short) but it bkisters the arrows out of it. Im a bit rusty shooting but, a little bit oil and I ll be shooting like I should be.
